About Me
Thanks for visiting. My name is Erin-Leigh Hoffman. I am a staff writer with the Greenfield Recorder, a daily newspaper covering Franklin County in western Massachusetts.
At the Recorder, I cover the three communities of Montague, Gill, and Erving. I write about each of these communities’ town government, school districts, businesses, cultural events, and more. I also routinely cover news related to local activism, the impact of state and federal policy on rural communities, the local arts and music scene, and rural health care. I also help manage the newspaper's Instagram page. My bylines and photos can be found in the Recorder, the Athol Daily News, the Daily Hampshire Gazette, the Amherst Bulletin, and Valley Advocate.
I’m a 2024 graduate of Marist University (formerly Marist College), where I earned my bachelor's degree in communication (journalism). My previous bylines include the Marist Circle and The Highlands Current.
When I’m not writing, I’m playing music. I’ve been a lifelong musician. I am a singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist. I’m a western New York native with a passion for Wegmans, the occasional garbage plate, and a Sunday afternoon spent watching the Buffalo Bills.
